Getting married at St Cuthbert’s

Marriage in church is not only a witness to your friends and family but it is also an opportunity to come

together to pray for God's blessing, to share your joy and to celebrate your love for each other.  Marriage

in Church is one part of the life of the Church and demonstrates that you are taking your place as part

of the Church Community.  Consequently to be married at St Cuthbert's, you will need to be able to show

your links with the Church.

If you have been worshipping regularly at St Cuthbert's for six months you automatically qualify.  You are also connected if

one of you lives in the parish, is on the church's electoral roll, has at anytime lived in the parish for a period of at least 6

months, was baptised in the parish, was prepared for confirmation in the parish, or if one of your parents at any time after

you were born has lived in the parish for at least 6 months, if one of your parents after you were born has regularly attended

normal church services for at least 6 months, and lastly if your parents or grandparents were married in the church.

If you can answer yes to one of the above then you will be able to marry here, if you are unable to answer yes then you can

create a connection by attending church on a regular basis.

You will need to contact our Rector or Verger to book an initial meeting to discuss all the legal requirements, costings and

to book the date!

To contact our Rector or Verger please use our contacts page or speak to them at church on Sunday at the 11am service
