Praying Together on Sundays

Praying Together on Sundays

I am grateful to Rev Chris Gregory, Assistant Priest across our churches, for the following resource to help us in our worship at home on each Sunday morning from now until Easter Day.

It would be good if we could use this resource at 10.00 on a Sunday morning as a way of linking us together as the body of Christ and as a reminder we are not worshipping alone.

Ps 3.3

You, O Lord, are a shield around me, and the one who lifts up my head

God of compassion, be close to those who are ill, afraid or in isolation in their loneliness, in their anxiety be their hope, in their darkness be their light, through him who suffered alone on the cross, but reigns with you in glory.

Lord hear us

Gracious God, keep is under the shadow of your mercy, sustain and support the anxious, be with those who care for the sick, the nurses and doctors giving so much, lift up all who are brought low, that we may find comfort knowing that nothing can separate us from your love.

Lord hear us

Loving Lord, be our source of strength and guidance our light and hope. Holding our Parishes in your loving embrace, may we be your heart and hands as we care for one another, as a community working together for all.

Lord hear us

1 John 3.1

See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God and that is what we are.

The Gospel Reading for Passion Sunday is John 11.1-45

Romans 8. 38-39

For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things to come, nor powers.

Nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ our Lord
