The world is changing; most of us are not paid weekly in cash and most have banks accounts, internet banking and plastic cards. How we give regularly to our church is also changing, not least because of shifting patterns of church attendance. Take a huge step forward in your planned giving by joining the Parish Giving Scheme. 

This modern, tax efficient way of managing giving to your church is tried and tested and enables you to plan and manage your giving through Direct Debit.

Why give through the Parish Giving Scheme?

The Parish Giving Scheme (PGS) is simply the best way you can support St Cuthbert’s Church. The PGS is an Anglican charity. Most Liverpool parishes have joined and over half of English dioceses support it. Joining the PGS makes a huge difference compared with weekly envelopes or cash on the plate because we can collect your gift now. It is more efficient than standing orders. Your gift is always in your full control (by email or phone) with PGS. The Scheme is for every church member with a bank account. You do not need to pay tax.

Your gift leaves your account by Direct Debit on the 1st of each month. It is in church account by the 10th and any Gift Aid reclaims by the end of the month. The PGS saves time and administration and helps with cash flow. Your gift will support our ministry and PGS helps us make generous giving part of our daily life and discipleship.

How do I join, firstly

  • Have your bank details to hand:
    account number, sort code and the name of your bank.
  • Have the church details to hand:                                                                             
  • our church name is Churchtown St Cuthbert                                                                       
  • our unique PGS church code is 220622132                                                                         
  • our QR Code

Then choose one of three ways

  1. Ring the PGS office in Gloucester on 0333 002 1271. They will guide you through the process, Monday to Friday 9- 5pm
  2. By the website. https://www.parishgiving.org.uk/home/ and type in church code or the church postcode or scan the QR code with a smart phone.
  3. By completing a Gift Form available from the Parish Giving Secretary. Please contact the church office and the form can be collected or forwarded to your address.

What happens next?

You will receive confirmation by email or post of your Direct Debit, the amount and date of your first PGS gift. If you already give by standing order, remember to cancel it once PGS have confirmed with you.

How much does it cost?

Nothing! Everything you give goes into the church bank account.
